Inserts for the front sight are hard to find. Looks like a #15 Savage rear sight and Stevens #25 front sight. Much nicer than the earlier versions of the 19 NRA. The first time I saw a Savage Model 1907 I had to have it. The serial number on the front of the frame, 2156XX, puts the date of mfg. They made these newer style rifles "19-33" with differant stocks, magazines, and bolts. Two hours later this is what was under all the dirt: The top of the slide is stamped Savage Arms Co. A later one like yours in the 64,000 range, too. I have a earlier "full stock" 43,000 serial that was lettered shipped in early 1932. The 33 is the year they change the design. Had a fairly nice 43 dated Boyt sling on it. I'm not sure if this is one of the military trainer but it is in the 63000 serial number range and so far what I've found on the net is in 1933 production ceased with 50,000 produced until the 40s when the military placed their order. for 100 bucks, I had never heard of this model before and after looking around on the net, found out that the military ordered 6000 of these in the 1940s. Bought this Savage Model 19 at a flea market in Athens Ga.
